Rebecca Raven
Rebecca is currently the Head Instructor and Horse Developer here at RCA Equestrian. Born under the Year of the Horse, Rebecca, has a passion for all things Equine. Being raised with horses her whole life, the western lifestyle was always part of the the plan. As an avid rider she began very young and never looked back. Taking part as a lead-liner, walk-trotter, and later as a youth rider in AHA (Arabian Horse Association) she began to win and develop a love of the show ring. As a youth, Rebecca was also active in the El Paso County 4-H program. Holding prominent offices such as President and Youth Leader. Later, during college she was also active in the equine community. Rebecca was a member of the UM-Western Show team both Western and English(2004-2008) and qualified for Regionals in both disciplines multiple years. In 2008, as Assistant Western Coach, she went on to show at the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) Nationals in Los Angeles, CA in Western Horsemanship and Reining. Taking home a Top 10 in Horsemanship. She was also active in the Professional Horsemen's Association developing and showing young horses for John Xanthopoulos of J & S Sport Horses(Dillon, MT). After completing the first Collegiate Natural Horsemanship Program in the country. She returned to Colorado after 4 1/2 years in Dillon, Montana. Rebecca then began teaching and developing the next generation of horsewomen and men.
Today she is active in the local show arena in which she attends many schooling and All Breed horse shows.
Experienced in a variety of disciplines she can coach Saddle Seat, Hunt Seat, Hunt Seat Over Fences, Equitation, Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Halter, Western Horsemanship, Reining, Basic Dressage,**Western Dressage and **Cowboy Dressage Lead-line, Walk-Trot, Trail, and many more. She is very excited about the emerging Western Dressage Association.
She can teach the very youngest or the most experienced rider how to improve their communication with their horses using Natural Horsemanship.
